About Me

1f4ea4aEmma Jarratt is an investigative multimedia journalist in Toronto. She holds a Master of Journalism (2014) from Ryerson University and a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton University (2012). Emma freelances in print and broadcast, specifically concentrating on health investigations, politics, law and national security.

Emma’s work has been nominated for a series of national awards; most recently a Canadian Screen Award in 2018 for her work on Vancouver’s opioid crisis, which appeared on CTV’s investigative news program, W5. In 2014 Emma won a national competition,┬áthe High North Journalism Award, which took her to Norway where she reported on political, economic and environmental issues from the Arctic Circle countries.

Emma has worked for some of Canada’s largest news outlets including CTV, the Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail and VICE. She has reported from eight countries and has lived abroad in Europe, the UK and Norway.
